The library had 7,254 visitors from January to December of 2014, most during the summer and fall months.

6,437 books, dvds, audiobooks, and magazines were checked out in 2014.

Our public computers and WiFi continue to be popular, with 1,994 people using the computers and 504 using WiFi

Programs, events, and fundraisers during the year included Summer Reading Program for Kids, Book Discussion Group, Computer HelpDesk for Older Adults, Ereader workshops, Gardening Together for Parents and Kids, Story Time for Toddlers, Summer Teen Book Club, Trick or Treat at the Library, and Santa Story Time. Fundraisers included Book Sales, Rummage Sale, Wine & Cheese Tasting, Quilt & iPad raffles, and the annual Holiday Bazaar.

A Friends of the Sherman Free Library Group continued to work hard during the year to raise funds and spread the good word about the library in our community. The Wine & Cheese Tasting, Annual Labor Day Book Sale, and Holiday Bazaar were all great successes in 2014.

A couple new faces joined the staff of the library last year: Nancy Sherman, who also works at the Westport Library and Renee Anderson who formerly volunteered as our Toddler Story Time presenter.
